Serving the Home Building and Remodeling Industry

How to Join BAM:

BAM is part of a network of knowledgeable organizations that works to improve your business and the industry as a whole.

You actually join BAM through your local builder's association. BAM is the umbrella organization for home builders and works on statewide issues. There are 15 local builder associations around the state. Each local association has a different process for becoming a member and each offers a variety of services such as: Parade of Homes, Home Shows, monthly membership meetings, education opportunities and camaraderie.

When you join the local association, a portion of your dues is sent to the Builders Association of Minnesota and the National Association of Home Builders. You join one of the local associations and automatically become a member with BAM and NAHB to provide you with access to resources that can answer your building and business related questions, whatever they may be.

Member Services - Education

Our Education Efforts

One of the association's primary goals is to provide the best builder education around. BAM takes all the knowledge from its research and combines it with curriculum on codes, legislative changes and best practices suggestions from proven industry experts to create a well-rounded and useful set of courses that improve building practices and business operations for our attendees. Each year, our education committee and key staff identify what is most crucial for builders to learn and then test the seminars with select builders, remodelers, code officials and building scientists to ensure that we provide quality, useful information. Be assured that there is something for you in our education whether you're just starting out or are a seasoned veteran.

Education Opportunities

Builders Symposium

Through our annual Builders Symposium, we bring expert speakers on current topics impacting the home building industry. This is the one time a year you will be able to hear from multiple experts on the issues that are at the forefront of the industry.

Codes and Rules Instruction

When codes are changed, we coordinate with state officials to ensure that builders have the opportunity to learn the code. Our code classes cover major changes between previous and entering codes, and often include reference materials to help ease the transition.

Business Necessities

Other courses we have offered cover business issues such as insurance and legal protections. Each year's series of courses is specifically geared to educate you in the areas of construction that have been most affected by change.
