Members from New Orleans Home Builders Association to Help Minnesota Rebuild After Flooding Disasters
September 27, 2007 – In response to Minnesota’s recent flooding disasters, several members of the New Orleans Home Builders Association (HBA) will arrive in Rochester Friday, September 28th, to offer assistance and advice to several key players involved in restoration efforts. The meetings will take place at 9:30am at the Rochester Area Builders, Inc. (RAB) office.
Following the storms in New Orleans, Minnesota association members raised funds and offered support to help the New Orleans association with recovery. The New Orleans HBA members, grateful for the assistance provided from Minnesota in their time of need, elected to visit Minnesota’s flooded communities to offer their experience and knowledge in dealing with the rebuilding of water damaged homes. Their experience will help local industry members understand FEMA’s regulations and the changes in building codes in order to effectively respond to and assist homeowners with repairs. Joining the meeting will also be Ken Ford, Disaster Response Expert from the National Association of Home Builders, the Mayor of Stockton, Jack Roberts, officials from Houston County, and members of: the Rochester Area Builders, Inc.; Wisconsin Builders Association; and the Builders Association of Minnesota.
