Jim Gander Elected 2007 BAM President

1/4/2007 – Minnesota entrepreneur Jim Gander was elected President of BAM, bringing a vision of community and professionalism to the organization for 2007.

"Being a part of providing our customers with the American dream of home ownership is the pleasure of what we all do," Gander commented on the Association's membership.

Under Gander's leadership, the association will continue its work to make the residential construction industry one of the most professional industries in Minnesota. Among top initiatives for the association this year, Gander will push to improve the BAM brand as the seal of trust in the building industry, advancing the Association mession of ethical, professional and fair building practices. Under Gander's leadership, the Association will continue its legacy of quality education, fair regulatory and legislative initiatives.

"The builders association is not only an important part of my business, but also an integral part of my family. Through the friendships I have formed with other association members, my business has expanded across the state," Gander commented. "I firmly believe we would not be as successful without the support of the Builders Association."

Gander has been an active part of the local, state and national associations. Past service includes President of the Rochester Area Builders, Rochester Area Builders Director, National Association of Home Builders Director, and service on numerous councils and commitees. Gander's efforts have been recognized, most recently awarded Associate of the Year by Rochester Area Builders. We look forward to his leadership at the Builders Association of Minnesota.

Gander founded Superior Water Conditioning in Rochester in 1982. The business quickly expanded, and Jim recognized the need for additional services in the area. In 1984, he founded Superior Plumbing and Heating, and in 2000 added Superior Mechanical Systems. Through these businesses, Gander has provided service to homeowners, residential contractors and commercial contractors from general plumbing needs to radiant and hot water heating to complete mechanical system design and installation.

With a mission to provide a competitively priced plumbing and mechanical contracting firm without compromising quality, Gander and his associates have been extremely successful. Beginning in the Rochester area, they are now a leading subcontractor throughout south-eastern Minnesota, and have expanded into the Twin Cities and Brainerd markets.
