Sometimes a project doesn't go the way you expected, and you're not sure
how to work with the builder to resolve the issue. There is a
procedure that you should follow:
- Contact
Your Builder In Writing
If
you are unhappy with work that is completed, or feel that work
was not performed as agreed to in contract, you are required
to contact your builder in writing to maintain full warranty
coverage as provided by the state of Minnesota. This also gives
you legal documentation of the concerns you have.
- File
a Complaint
If
you are unable to resolve issues with your builder directly,
you have the option to file a complaint with the Minnesota
Department of Commerce. The Department will ask that you
submit your complaint in writing with copies of any documentation
you may have. Visit their website for further details.
